Everything you need to know about hiring a mini excavator with Sunbury Diggers.

All equipment is picked up from Sunbury. Delivery outside this area is available—contact us for a quote.

No special licence is required. Experience is recommended but not mandatory. Hirers must operate the machine safely.

A current Australian driver’s licence is required. Hirers must meet minimum age requirements (18+).

The hire agreement must be signed and returned prior to your booking.

All machines must be returned with a full tank of diesel and in a clean condition, unless otherwise arranged.

Late fees apply:
Up to 1 hour late: $50
1–3 hours late: $100
Over 3 hours late or next-day return: Full daily hire rate ($250)
Please contact us if you might be late.

More than 48 hours’ notice: No fee
24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of daily hire ($125)
Less than 24 hours / no-show: Full daily hire ($250)
Weather-related cancellations are assessed case-by-case; we aim to reschedule where possible.

Yes. You are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft during the hire. Sunbury Diggers does not provide insurance unless agreed in writing.

Yes. For safety, all excavation must comply with Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) requirements: www.byda.com.au
